As 3rd generation livestock & crop farmers, our family has now made the conscious decision to move towards hydroponically growing produce from traditional field grown farming, thus founding "Cowra Fresh".
Cowra Fresh is a up & coming specialist grower of leafy green produce including, lettuce mixed salad leaves, micro herbs & edible flowers.
About
Hydroponics: the a better way to grow produce.
Hydroponic systems are more environmentally friendly opposed to traditional field grown crops as they reduce the amount of water the water used. In a hydroponic system water is collected & reused, instead of allowing the water to run off into the environment.
Hydroponic farms also are able to have a smaller carbon footprint due to the maximised use of growing space, by doing so, the root system of each individual plant will take up less space, thus resulting in our horticulturalist being able to grow more plants in a smaller space.
As Cowra Fresh produce is grown in a climate controlled hydroponics system, our produce is able to be grown & supplied to our loyal customers all year around. With the advantage of a climate controlled system there is also the elimination of weeds, pests and/or diseases to disturb our produce.
